
Olympic Tavern to host All-Star party Monday

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs fans can check out the 2005 United Hockey League Pepsi All-Star Classic on Monday, January 24 at the Olympic Tavern. The game will be broadcast via the internet on the B2 Network and IceHogs fans can watch the contest live during Budweiser HogTalk on Monday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The game will be projected onto a 60" screen.
The Olympic Tavern, located at 2327 North Main Street in Rockford, is the weekly host of Budweiser HogTalk every Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The show is hosted by WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T and feature IceHogs players and Head Coach Steve Martinson. This week the show will feature defenseman Rod Aldoff, and forwards Chris Gobert and Bruce Watson.
The All-Star festivities will get under way at 5:00 p.m. with the Adirondack Red Wings Alumni taking on the UHL Alumni team. Martinson will participate in the Alumni game, skating for the Adirondak squad. Then at 6:40 p.m. Pepsi All-Star Classic will get under way. The IceHogs will have six participants including four starters for Team Mountain Dew.
Goaltender Michel Robinson, defenseman Nathan Lutz and forwards J.C. Ruid and J.F. Dufour will all start while center Olivier Proulx and rookie defenseman Steve Pelletier will also participate. Fans can meet Aldoff, Gobert and Watson and enjoy great food and Budweiser specials while watching the six IceHogs play in this year's All-Star Game.
Next Home Stand: Friday, January 28 vs. Flint Generals. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The Generals make their first visit to the MetroCentre this season. Friday is also the Hogs Fourth Annual NASCAR Night sponsored by Thompson's Transmissions, FOX39 and Q98.5 FM. Fans can check out the #24 Jeff Gordon Chevrolet Monte Carlo and get an up close look at one of racings most popular cars.
Then on Saturday, January 29, the Kansas City Outlaws return to Rockford. The first 1,000 fans to the big orange box will receive an IceHogs baseball cap from Wireless One, 23WIFR and 104.9FM, WXRX. For tickets to both games, call (815) 968-5222.
