Olauson's Hat Trick Keeps Ice Bears Undefeated at Home

KNOXVILLE, TN - The Knoxville Ice Bears proudly donned the patriotic red, white and blue in honor of all the armed forces as they continued their perfect home record with a 5-3 victory over the first place Augusta RiverHawks.

The game was off to an explosive start with a two goal onslaught by Emery Olauson just 48 seconds into the first period against RiverHawks goalie, David Wilson. Immediately following the second goal Wilson was replaced in the net by BJ O'Brien.

The RiverHawks answered back in the second period with a goal scored by Brandon Kosolofsky on a breakaway. Augusta gained momentum on a power play goal by Chris Doyle at 8:25 in the second period, scoring their second goal of the game - tying the game at 2.

Knoxville took the lead at 16:01 with Eric Satim's fourth goal of the season on a power play ending the period 3-2 Ice Bears.

It was an exciting third period when Augusta's Dustin Cloutier tied it up 3 all 13:02 into the third. Knoxville's Olauson broke the tie with his league leading 11th goal of the season with 4:37 left in the third period. Hats flooded the ice in honor of Olauson's first hat trick of the season.

A one-goal lead wasn't enough for Knoxville's Tyler Fletcher. Fletcher scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Kevin Swider, on an open net with 29 seconds left in the game ending Augusta's perfect road record.
