Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 NAL Champion Jacksonville Sharks, would like to announce that offensive lineman and fullback Jaleel Brown has re-signed with the Sharks for the 2020 season. Brown (6'2, 315) enters his second year of arena football after spending his rookie season with Jacksonville Sharks. Brown was signed last season following an injury to starting fullback Alstevis Squirewell. During that period Brown got two starts at fullback where he and fellow teammate Zack Brown split the role. Brown is the second Sharks player to re-sign with Jacksonville under Head Coach James Fuller as offensive lineman Derrick Zeigler's return was announced yesterday.
Brown spent his college career at Adrian College, a Division III school in southern Michigan. During his time at Adrian College he was an Offensive Lineman starting in 22 games for the Bulldogs from 2016-2018. In 2017, Brown and the offensive line earned two "D-III Top Offensive Line of the Week" awards by D3football.com.
A native of Starke, FL, Brown played high school football at Bucholz High School in Gainesville where he rarely came off the field starting as an offensive and defensive linemen as well as served as the team's long snapper on special teams. Between his sophomore to senior years, he had started in over 15 games for the Bobcats. During his senior year, he helped Bucholz High School to a perfect 5-0 home record, a District Championship victory, a State Playoff appearance, and the school's best record (10-2) since 1990.
