HEAD COACHES: Jeff Jarnigan enters his second season as head coach of the Yard Dawgz. Last season he led the team to a 10-6 regular season record and a first round playoff appearance. Prior to taking over the head coaching duties in Oklahoma City, Coach Jarnigan served as the defensive coordinator for the Austin Wranglers (AFL) during the 2004 season. From 2001 through 2003 Coach Jarnigan was the defensive coordinator for the Tulsa Talons. Under his defense the team won two National Conference Central Division Championships and the ArenaCup in 2003.

Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Steve Perdue begins his second full season at the helm of the Amarillo Dusters, and his third season with the team overall. Perdue took over as Head Coach in week four of the 2005 season, leading the Dusters to a 49-31 victory over the San Diego Riptide in his first game. Coach Perdue led the team to 6 regular-season wins as well as an upset road victory over the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz in the opening round of the 2005 playoffs. As a result of the 59-56 victory, the Dusters became the first expansion team in af2 history to win a playoff game. In arena football circles, Perdue is known as a fiery, disciplined leader. After taking over as Head Coach in week four, Perdue turned the team around as they were the most penalized team in af2, and finished the last 12 weeks of the season as the least penalized team in the entire league. The defensive unit also allowed 10 fewer points per game under his guidance as the Head Coach.

LAST SERIES MEETING: The Amarillo Dusters lost to the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz 61-44 on April 15, 2006 in Amarillo.

THIS WEEK'S QUOTES:
JEFF JARNIGAN, on Amarillo: "...Tough playing them within a 3-week period... tough playing any team numerous times in the season... it will be a tough game."

DROPBACK: The Yard Dawgz faced what Head Coach Jeff Jarnigan said would be the toughest game of the season. After getting off to a slow start, Oklahoma City went on a 20-0 run into the second half, beating the Blizzard 44-32.

FORWARD MOTION: The Yard Dawgz take on their bitter-sweet rival, when the Talons come to town. Always one of the biggest crowds of the year, Oklahoma City leads the series 3-2.
