Bakersfield Blitz Add New Kicker, Rich Ehmke and WR/LB, Nian Taylor

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Blitz added former Chicago Bears kicker, Rich Ehmke and WR/LB, Nian Taylor to their existing roster for the 2006 af2 season.

Blitz Head Coach Gary Compton commented on his recent transactions. "We have been trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. With the addition of Rich and Nian, we think we have completed what we need to do to make this championship run."

Rich Ehmke (6-0, 210, Eastern Illinois) is his first year with the Blitz. After graduating from Eastern Illinois, Ehmke was a back-up kicker for Kevin Butler, NFL Chicago Bears 1988. Ehmke is entering his fourth year in arena football. Previous years were spent with af2's Quad City, Albany, San Diego, and Manchester and with the AFA's Semi-Pro Southern California Storm. While with the Storm, Ehmke kicked 28-28 PAT's. During his years in the af2, Ehmke kicked 106-138 PAT's.

WR/LB Nian Taylor (6-2, 200, Washington State) is another new player for the Blitz. Previous years were spent with the Arizona Rattler in 2001 and the New York Dragons in 2003.

The Blitz will be battling the Stockton Lightning on Saturday, April 29, at Stockton. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Stockton Arena.

Season tickets for the Blitz 2006 season are still on sale, as well as single game tickets. Ticket plans start at the prorated price of $70 and single game tickets are as low as $10 in the lower bowl. Tickets will be available at the Rabobank Arena box office and any Ticketmaster location.
