
Oklahoma City Overpowers Sioux Falls

WICHITA, Kan. - The Oklahoma City Blue (21-20) withstood a fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Sioux Falls Skyforce (22-18), 100-95, on Wednesday morning.
With 46 second left in the game, Sioux Falls' Derrick Jones Jr. hit a three-pointer to cut the Blue's lead to one point. Bryce Alford was fouled and hit two free throws to seal the game for Oklahoma City.
Alford led the Blue with eight points in the final frame and finished with 16 points. Jones Jr. led the way for the Skyforce with 22 points and four rebounds.
Two-way player Daniel Hamilton narrowly missed a triple-double, contributing 16 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds, his team-leading 17th double-double of the season, most among all guards in the G League.
"I think our defense since the All-Star break has been really, really good," said Head Coach Mark Daigneault. "I was really happy with how we carried that over from losses. We didn't play particularly well offensively at home the last two games, but our defense was really good and we challenged our guys to sustain that and stay with it."
Oklahoma City held a narrow 7-6 lead midway through the first quarter, but a three-pointer from Rashawn Thomas sparked a 22-8 run to close out the quarter.Thomas scored 12 points in the first quarter and finished with a game-high 22 points, adding 10 rebounds.
The Blue extended its lead in the second quarter behind eight points from Javan Felix, and led 51-39 at halftime. He finished with 19, his 11th game in double figures this season.
Up next, the Blue takes on the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday, March 2 at 9 p.m. at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.
