OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC has announced the signing of defender Coady Andrews, General Manager Jason Hawkins announced today. Andrews is a native of Shawnee, Kansas and most recently played for the Missouri Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

"Coady has a lot of experience at this level," said Energy FC Head Coach Jimmy Nielsen. "We were looking to bring in an experienced center back after Mark (Howard) announced his retirement. Coady is a great late signing, and we're happy to have him on the team."

Andrews joined the Comets just before the 2011 MISL playoff series and has 65 appearances and 27 points to his credit. He joined the Harrisburg City Islanders in 2013 and made his debut for the team in a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on April 13.

Andrews played collegiately at MidAmerica Nazarene University and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was 2008 All-Heartland Conference selection and helped MidAmerica win the conference championship and finish the season ranked No. 16.

"Being from Kansas City, (coming to OKC) makes the most sense for a number of reasons," Andrews said. "It's always nice to have the chance to play for a guy like Jimmy. It's nice to play closer to home. I'm very excited to be here."

Andrews was a two-time all-state selection at Mill Valley High School and led the Jaguars to four league championships. He was team captain his senior year and a three-time all-conference honoree. Andrews led his high school team to a third-place finish at state as a freshman.
