OKC Energy FC enters Sunday's match undefeated over its last four matches (3-0-1). Two of OKC's three straight wins have come in U.S. Open Cup play. After a 3-1 win in Midland/Odessa on May 20, Energy FC defeated Tulsa Roughnecks FC 1-0 last Wednesday to advance to the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup. After entering the game in the 61st minute, OKC's Peter Toth scored the match's lone goal, and his first of the season, with a line-drive kick from 30 yards out that sailed into the upper-left corner of the Tulsa net. With the win over Tulsa, Energy FC faces the MLS's FC Dallas in a June 16 match at Texas Christian University's Garvey-Rosenthal soccer complex in Ft. Worth.
Energy FC's last USL match was a 2-1 win over Sacramento Republic FC on May 23 at Taft Stadium in Oklahoma City. Casey Townsend assisted on goals by Danni König and Sebastian Dalgaard in OKC's win.
The Aztex (4-5-1) enter play having won two of their last three matches. Aside from a 1-0 loss to Tulsa on May 24, Austin recorded 2-0 wins over the Laredo Heat on May 20 and the NASL's San Antonio Scorpions in U.S. Open Cup play last Wednesday. Mikey Ambrose and Trevin Caesar each tallied goals for Austin in the win, with Andres Cuero registering the match's loan assist on Caesar's 78th minute goal. Ambrose's marker was the first of his professional career. Austin faces the Houston Dynamo of the MLS in their fourth round matchup scheduled for June 17.
