OKLAHOMA CITY - OKC Energy FC returns to action Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. CT contest against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Sand Creek Stadium. The match can be viewed live online at YouTube.com/Switchbacks FC.
Energy FC enters Saturday afternoon's contest against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC coming off a 1-1 draw with the Tulsa Roughnecks FC last Saturday. Energy FC will be without midfielder Christian Duke for the foreseeable future as Duke suffered a shoulder injury last Saturday.
Despite this being the Switchbacks' first season in USL, Energy FC will see a familiar face in goal for Colorado Springs in Samir Badr. Oklahoma City midfielder Daniel Gonzalez's brother, Miguel, is also a forward for the Switchbacks. The Switchbacks opened the 2015 season with a 2-0 loss at the Austin Aztex last Saturday.
Saturday's contest is the second of five straight against first-year USL teams. Following Saturday's matinée, Energy FC returns home to host the Seattle Sounders 2 on Saturday, April 18 at historic Taft Stadium at 7 p.m. Tickets for the home opener remain and can be purchased online or by calling (405) 235-KICK.
