OKC Dodgers Postgame Notes - June 17, 2022

Game Summary: For the second straight night, the Oklahoma City Dodgers fell behind by three runs but ended up scoring 12 runs in a comeback win, defeating the Reno Aces, 12-7, Friday night at Greater Nevada Field. Reno (34-30) scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and still led 3-0 until the third inning when the Dodgers (40-24) scored on a RBI single by Miguel Vargas and sacrifice fly by Zach McKinstry. The Dodgers took the lead in the sixth inning with a three-run rally. Tomás Telis tied the game with a RBI single, and later with two outs, Vargas and McKinstry drew back-to-back bases-loaded walks. OKC had a 5-4 lead in the seventh inning when they plated five more runs, including a RBI double by Andy Burns and a three-run homer by Jake Amaya. Amaya added a RBI single in the eighth inning, and Michael Busch boosted OKC's total to 12 runs with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. Reno scored three runs in their final at-bat before the Dodgers wrapped up the game.

Of Note: -The Dodgers improved to 9-2 over their last 11 games and 11-3 in their last 14 games. At 40-24, the Dodgers are a season-high 16 games above .500 this season, reaching that level for the first time since June 2018. OKC has also won nine of their last 12 road games.

-Friday's win marked the fifth time in the last 10 games the Dodgers won after trailing by at least three runs, along with June 7-8 versus Sugar Land, June 11 against Salt Lake and Thursday's game in Reno.

-One night after tallying five RBI, Jake Amaya racked up four more RBI Friday. He went 3-for-5 and also homered for a second straight game, hitting a three-run homer in the seventh inning. It was his second Triple-A home run and his 11th overall home run of the season. Over the last two games, Amaya is 4-for-9 with nine RBI and three runs scored.

-Jason Martin reached base four times, with two hits and two walks. He went 2-for-3 with his team-leading fifth triple and three runs scored. Martin is on a season-best nine-game hitting streak, going 13-for-33 with three home runs, two triples, two doubles and 10 RBI.

-Drew Avans recorded his third straight multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. During the three-game stretch, Avans is 7-for-13. He is currently on a five-game hitting streak, going 9-for-20 with eight RBI.. Since May 26 (19 games), Avans is batting .356 (23x63) with 18 runs and 14 RBI.

-Michael Busch extended his hitting streak to 10 games, going 1-for-5 with a RBI and two runs scored. During the hitting streak, Busch 12-for-43 with five extra-base hits and nine RBI.

-By scoring 12 runs on both Thursday and Friday, the Dodgers have scored at least a dozen runs in consecutive games for the fourth time this season, and Friday marked the 11th time this season the Dodgers scored at least 12 runs in a game. OKC has scored at least eight runs five of the last six games and at least six runs for the eighth time in the last 10 games. The Dodgers recorded an inning with at least five runs for a second straight night and they now have 15 separate innings of at least five runs this season.
