Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers try for a third straight win when they continue their series against the Reno Aces at 8:35 p.m. CT at Greater Nevada Field...The Dodgers own first place in the Pacific Coast League and have a 2.5-game lead ahead of second-place El Paso in the East Division standings.
Last Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers overcame a three-run deficit with a six-run fifth inning, highlighted with a grand slam by Jake Amaya, as the Dodgers outslugged the Reno Aces, 12-8, Thursday night at Greater Nevada Field. Reno took a 3-0 lead in the first inning before Jason Martin connected on a two-run homer in the second inning to get OKC back within one run. The Aces held a 5-2 lead entering the fifth inning when the Dodgers put up six runs to take the lead for good. After Jake Lamb and Martin each picked up a RBI to make it a one-run game, Amaya swatted a go-ahead grand slam for his first Triple-A hit and home run. Leading, 8-7, OKC tallied three more runs in the seventh inning with RBI by Amaya, Tony Wolters and Drew Avans to push the lead to 11-7. The Aces scored one run in the seventh inning before Wolters drove in another run in the top of the ninth to make it 12-8. Reno rallied to get the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Justin Bruihl struck out Cooper Hummel to end the game.
Today's Probable Pitchers: Beau Burrows (3-3) makes his 10th start of the season tonight in Reno...He most recently pitched 2.2 innings of relief June 11 against Salt Lake, following starting pitcher Sam Gaviglio. He allowed two runs and two hits and a career-high six walks with one strikeout and did not factor into the decision of OKC's 10-9 comeback win...In his previous two starts, both at Round Rock, Burrows allowed a total of one run and nine hits, with five walks and 13 strikeouts over 10.2 innings, notching a pair of victories. On May 31, he combined with two relievers on an 8-0 shutout...Burrows leads the team with 52.2 innings and 62 strikeouts, which are sixth-most in the PCL, while his 5.30 ERA ranks ninth among qualified pitchers...Burrows signed with the Dodgers as a free agent Nov. 28, 2021 after playing for Triple-A Toledo and St. Paul last season. He also made five MLB appearances for Detroit and Minnesota...He was originally selected by Detroit with the 22nd pick of the first round in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Weatherford High School (Texas)...Tonight is his second appearance of the season against the Aces. He started Game 1 of a doubleheader in OKC May 26, allowing four runs and tied his season-high with eight hits, with two walks and five K's and was charged with the loss in OKC's 9-0 defeat.
Jon Duplantier (4-0) is scheduled to piggyback Burrows...He most recently pitched June 12 in OKC and tied his season-high marks with three runs and three walks over 1.1 innings with three hits and one strikeout and did not factor into the decision of OKC's 8-3 home win against Salt Lake. After completing 1.1 scoreless innings, he was unable to retire each of the first five batters he faced in the eighth inning (2 H, 2 BB, HBP)...He is tied with Sam Gaviglio for the second-most wins on the team and opponents have batted just .183 against him...Duplantier was selected by the Dodgers from the Giants in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 Draft Dec. 8, 2021 after he had signed with the Giants just four days prior as a minor league free agent...In 2021, he made a combined seven appearances with Arizona and Triple-A Reno before suffering a season-ending lat strain July 10 against Las Vegas...He was selected in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft by Arizona out of Rice University...Tonight will be his third appearance of the season against his former team. Over his first 3.0 innings against Reno, he has allowed three runs and six hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

The Dodgers and Aces are meeting for their second series of the season and first at Greater Nevada Field since 2018 after the teams played three straight series at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark starting with the 2019 season...Reno won the May 24-29 series in OKC, 4-2, and won three straight games in Bricktown for the first time ever, including a doubleheader sweep May 26. The Aces had a slight edge in runs, 35-33, as Reno won its first series in Bricktown after OKC won or split each of the teams' first seven series in OKC since 2010...Jason Martin led OKC with six hits in the first series this season and tied with Omar Estévez for a team-best six RBI. Estévez also hit two home runs...In 2021, the teams split a six-game series in OKC. The teams were even offensively as well in the series with the Dodgers taking a slight 35-34 edge in runs, a 54-52 edge in hits and 9-8 edge in homers...The last time the Dodgers played in Reno in 2018, they lost three of four games. With wins the last two nights, OKC has won back-to-back games at Greater Nevada Field for the first time since 2014...Through the first nine games of the 2022 season series, the road team is 6-3.
Winning Ways: The Dodgers have won four of their last five games, are 8-2 in their last 10 games and 10-3 in their last 13 games. The team is also 8-3 in its last 11 road games...At 39-24, the Dodgers are a season-high 15 games above .500 this season, reaching that level for the first time since June 2018. The last time the team was 16 games above .500 was June 23, 2018 (43-27)...The Dodgers have also won three straight series and are 8-1-3 through their first 12 series of the season, with their lone series loss going to Reno in OKC in late May.
Getting Offensive: OKC's 12 runs last night was the team's highest run output since a 14-7 win against Reno May 24 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and was the 10th time this season the Dodgers have scored at least a dozen runs in a game. OKC scored at least eight runs for the fourth time in five games (41 R) and at least six runs for the seventh time in the last nine games (65 R)...Over the last 20 games, the Dodgers are 12-8. In the 12 wins, they've batted .287 (118x411) with 96 runs scored, and at least six runs in 11 of the 12 games. In the eight losses, they have batted .194 (49x253) with 18 runs scored, exceeding two runs just in three of the eight games...The Dodgers lead all of Triple-A with 308 walks, while their 412 runs scored, .370 OBP and .828 OPS all rank second among the 30 Triple-A teams...Last night's six-run fifth inning marked the 10th separate inning of six or more runs this season and 30th inning this season with four-plus runs, including 23 over the last 40 games...In eight plate appearances with the bases loaded last night, the Dodgers went 2-for-5 with two hit batters and a sacrifice fly, accounting for eight of their 12 runs.
Comeback Trail: Thursday's win marked the fourth time in the last nine games the Dodgers won after trailing by at least three runs, along with June 7-8 versus Sugar Land and June 11 against Salt Lake. However, it was the first time since Aug. 10, 2021 at Albuquerque the Dodgers trailed by at least three runs in a road game and came back to win.
Simply Amayazing: Jake Amaya tallied five RBI Thursday, including his go-ahead grand slam in the fifth inning. It was his first Triple-A hit and home run, and his 10th overall home run of the season. Amaya had been in a bit of a home run drought of late, as the grand slam was his first homer since May 19...Yesterday was Amaya's second game this season and of his career with five or more RBI, as he notched six RBI for Double-A Tulsa April 23 at Springfield. The grand slam was the second of his career and first since July 26, 2018 with Rookie-level Ogden...Last night Amaya became the sixth OKC player with five-plus RBI in a game this season.
Clearance at JMart: Last night Jason Martin went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored. He is on a season-best eight game hitting streak, going 11-for-30 (.367) with three home runs, a triple, two doubles and 10 RBI. He also has picked up a RBI in six straight games (nine RBI total) - tied for the longest RBI streak by a Dodgers player this season and is the longest current streak in the PCL...He leads the Dodgers with 12 doubles, is tied for the team lead with 25 extra-base hits, ranks second with 41 runs scored and his 41 RBI are third. He ranks among the PCL's top-10 players in runs (T-4th), extra-base hits (T-6th, 25), RBI (T-6th), SLG (7th, .541) and OPS (9th, .921).
On the Lamb: Jake Lamb reached base three times with a single, walk and hit by pitch last night, finishing 1-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored. He extended his hitting streak to a season-long nine games (15x36) and he has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games (19x50) and in 14 of his last 16 games (22x63). Lamb has also reached base in 23 of his last 24 games as well as in 38 of his last 40 games...His current nine-game hitting streak is tied with Michael Busch for the longest active streak on the team, and over his last four games, Lamb is 9-for-16 with three doubles and four RBI...Since April 24 (40 games), Lamb is slashing .331/.444/.588 with nine homers, 11 doubles, 29 walks, 34 RBI and 30 runs scored. During that span, Lamb ranks second the PCL in OBP and OPS (1.032).
Busch League: Michael Busch reached base three times last night with a single, double and walk and scored twice. Busch is currently on a nine-game hitting streak, going 11-for-38 with five extra-base hits and eight RBI, and the streak is tied with Jake Lamb for the longest current active streak by an OKC player. He homered in back-to-back games to open the series Tuesday and Wednesday...Over his last six games, Busch is 8-for-24 with four extra-base hits.
Drew Point: Drew Avans tied his season high three hits Thursday, going 3-for-5 with a RBI and a run scored. He now has eight RBI in his last four games and has tallied 13 of his 21 total RBI this season during his first 13 games of June...Avans has reached base in 18 of his last 19 games with a plate appearance, and since May 26 (18 games), Avans is slashing .356/.466/.610 with 17 runs and 14 RBI...His 17 hits this month are second-most on the team as are his 13 RBI.
Around the Horn: OKC has homered in 11 of the last 12 games, tallying 17 total homers during the stretch...With Jason Martin surpassing 40 RBI last night, the Dodgers are now just one three teams across the Minors with three players with 40 or more RBI, joining Double-A Hartford and Corpus Christi. (Jake Lamb and Miguel Vargas are the other two.)...Last night marked the fifth time this season the Dodgers allowed three or more homers and the fourth time they've allowed six-plus extra-base hits. Stone Garrett became the fourth opponent with a multi-homer game, but the third this month...Last night was the fourth time in the last eight games the Dodgers allowed at least eight runs (34 R), although they ended up winning four of those games. In the other four games over the last eight, they've allowed a total of 12 runs...The Dodgers have committed seven errors over the last three games after committing a total of six errors across the previous 12 games.
