Tulsa Oilers News Release
TULSA, OK - The Tulsa Oilers of the Central Hockey League continue to build their roster for the upcoming 2011 season with the signing of forwards Patrick Levesque, Jay Sprague, Addison DeBoer, and Eric Satim.
Levesque, a 6'2" 200 pound right wing, has played for six different CHL franchises and played 49 games last year for the Mississippi Riverkings after beginning the season with the Quad City Mallards. With the Riverkings, Levesque scored 16 goals and tallied 15 assists in the regular season and added six more points during the Riverkings playoff run. A native of Quebec, Levesque brings a wealth of experience to the Oilers' roster. "Patrick is a seven year pro who is still young and capable of putting up some big numbers," said Oilers head coach Bruce Ramsay. "He's a strong, tough guy who will stand up for his teammates and also bring some offense. I thought he was the best player on the ice for Mississippi during the playoffs and we're excited to have him on our side."
Sprague played in four games with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL last season, after spending the previous four years as a member of the Michigan State hockey program. In Sprague's first year with the Spartans, the 6'3" 225 pound physical forward, registered three goals and nine assists as Michigan State took home its third National Championship. "Jay is a big, strong power forward with tremendous upside and we're very happy to have him in Tulsa. I'm expecting Jay to have a great year," stated Bruce Ramsay.
DeBoer, a product of Colorado College, spent the summer in the Australian Ice Hockey League with the Canberra Knights. In his first season down under, DeBoer led the AIHL in scoring with 32 goals and 53 assists in just 28 games. In the 2006-2007 season at Colorado College, the Spring Park, Minnesota native helped lead the Tigers to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association regular season title and a berth in the NCAA tournament. Bruce Ramsay said, "Addison is a player that has not yet reached his full potential, but is capable of being a top two line player."
Satim, a rookie, comes to the Oilers from Division III SUNY-Plattsburgh where he led the Cardinals in scoring for the 2010-2011 season. Satim, a 5'9" 155 pound forward from Montreal, also led Plattsburgh in assists and game-winning goals in his senior season. Satim was selected as a 2011 Division III All-American and finished his collegiate career with 122 points in 100 games played. "Eric is a skilled player who put up outstanding numbers in college," said Bruce Ramsay. "He's going to come in and have a chance to earn a spot as a top two line player."
The Tulsa Oilers play their home opener at 7:35pm on October 28th against the Wichita Thunder at the BOK Center.
