NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX - The Oilers got a solid performance on defense and a tremendous effort from Ian Keserich in net, but it wasn't enough to earn a victory over the stingy Fort Worth Brahmas.
Riley Boychuk scored the only goal of the game and Brahmas goalie Brad Fogal made 21 saves in Fort Worth's 1-0 victory over the Oilers on Sunday afternoon at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
Late in the first period, Boychuk picked up a pass in the neutral zone and found a lane to the Oilers net. The second-year pro beat Keserich between the legs at 17:54 for his fifth goal of the season.
The Oilers failed to capitalize on six powerplays including a four-minute man advantage early the third period. Tulsa defenseman Sean Erickson led all skaters with nine shots on goal but Fogal held his ground on each offering.
Tulsa, blanked for the first time this season, suffered its fourth straight loss and fifth in a row on the road. After giving up 21 goals in the their last three contests, the Oilers locked down the Brahmas for most of the evening.
Tulsa falls to 8-14-2 overall and will have a few days after before visiting Bloomington on December 14.
