
Mallards Fall in Wichita 3-1

WICHITA, Kan. (December 9, 2012) - Les Reaney scored two second period goals- including what proved to be the game winner- as the host Wichita Thunder defeated the Quad City Mallards 3-1 Sunday.
Reaney buried a pair of rebounds in a span of one minute and twenty three seconds to stretch what had been a 1-0 Wichita lead to 3-0. Reaney scored his first and the Thunder's second at 6:26 and struck again at 7:49.
The Mallards cut the Thunder advantage to 3-1 when Patrick Levesque tipped in a power play goal five minutes into the third period, but Quad City would get no closer.
The Thunder had first grabbed the lead when Neil Trimm cut into the slot to fire a wrist shot home at 7:27 of the first period.
The Mallards return to action on the road against the Bloomington Blaze Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. The Mallards next play at home Friday, December 21 at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers.
