CHL Tulsa Oilers

Oilers On MDA Telethon

September 4, 2009 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release

Since being named head coach of the Tulsa Oilers, Bruce Ramsay has been burning up the phone lines recruiting players for the upcoming Central Hockey League season. But on Monday he will be taking calls for a good cause, instead of making them.

Ramsay, player assistant coach Tyler Butler, right wing Mike Beausoleil and team broadcaster Steve McCall will be answering phones and taking pledges for the annual Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon. Ramsay and the Oiler contingent will be answering the phones from 9:40 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The Tulsa area telethon will be headquartered at Bass Pro Shops located at the Broken Arrow Expressway and Elm Street Exit. This will be

the second straight year the Oilers have helped answer phones for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In addition to staffing the phones, Oiler mascot Sledge will also be on hand greeting fans at Bass Pro Shop, helping raise funds for MDA.

The Jerry Lewis Telethon is televised on KOKI-TV Fox 23 (Cox cable channel 5) in Tulsa. It starts at 10 p.m. on Sunday September 6th. The Oilers start the CHL regular season on Friday October 16th at Mississippi.

The home opener for the Oilers in their 18th CHL season will be Saturday October 24th at 7:35 against the Wichita Thunder. Season tickets for the Oilers 2009-10 season in the BOK Center are available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-PUCK (7825).
