Tulsa Oilers News Release
Going Ape: The Tulsa Oilers won't be monkeying around when they host the Amarillo Gorillas Friday night at 7:35 at the Tulsa Convention Center. It is the Oilers' only game of the weekend.
Split Decision: Opening weekend was a mix of good and bad for the Oilers, who dropped their season opener on home ice, 3-2 to the Youngstown SteelHounds. The Oilers bounced back on Saturday night with a 4-3 overtime win on the road against the Fort Worth Brahmas.
Hot Time: Saturday's game was delayed by a half hour as the Oilers team bus suffered a breakdown, with a fire behind one of the tires around the brakes. No one was hurt, as the bus pulled over to the side of the road. The Oilers merrily got on a replacement bus and then picked up their first win of the season.
Goal A Game: Klage Kabel has started as hot as those faulty brakes, with a goal in each of the Oilers first two games. He scored the team's first goal of the season, then had the game winning goal, with just 6.9 seconds left in overtime against Fort Worth.
Spirit of The Thing: With Halloween right around the corner, the Oilers are getting into the spirit of the season. Fans are encouraged to come to the game in Halloween costumes. They can then register at the fan assistance center at the south end of the convention center arena. Fans will parade on the ice during intermission, and audience applause will determine winners in the adult and children's categories.
Tickets Here: Tulsa Oiler tickets are available at all Carson Attraction outlets, by phone at (918) 584-2000, or the Oilers office. Other information is available by calling the Oilers at (918) 632-7825.
