Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
Corpus Christi Rayz goaltender Scott Reid was called up to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Wednesday afternoon, Rayz General Manager Larry Linde announced. Reid is expected to be the reserve netminder for Wednesday night's game against the San Antonio Rampage and should be back with the Rayz for their pair of weekend games beginning Saturday in Laredo.
Reid made his Rayz debut over the weekend, winning back to back games against the Austin Ice Bats. The 28 year old netminder made 74 saves on 81 shots in two appearances with the Rayz this season. Prior to coming to Corpus Christi, he won the Central Hockey League's Most Outstanding Goaltender Award in 2003-04 and finished as the runner up for the award last season. Earlier in the summer, Reid attended training camp with the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL. The Chicago Wolves currently have a 2-3-1 record in six games this season.
The Rayz opened up the 2005-2006 season in fine fashion with a pair of wins over the Austin Ice Bats. The Rayz will return to the ice on Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm for the first Caller-Times Family Day Game of the season. Fans can receive two free children tickets with the purchase of every adult priced ticket. Come watch the Rayz as they host the expansion Youngstown (OH) Steelhounds for the first ever meeting between the two clubs. For more information, please contact the Rayz at (361)814-PUCK.
