Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings struck for four goals in a span of 7:14 early in the second period en route to a 7-3 win over the Calgary Hitmen Friday night at Rogers Place.
The Oil Kings received a balanced attack with markers from seven different shooters as Andrew Fyten, Andrei Pavlenko and Zach Russell led the way with a goal and an assist each. Vladimir Alistrov, Wyatt McLeod, Aidan Lawson and Ethan Cap rounded out the Edmonton scoring.
Mark Kastelic netted a pair of goals for Calgary to reach 25, a new career high. Carson Focht added a single with Egor Zamula chipping in a pair of assists for the visitors.
Edmonton outshot the Hitmen 38-32 in improving to 3-0-1-0 against their Central Division rivals this season.
Calgary is back at the Scotiabank Saddledome for their final game of 2018 against the Vancouver Giants on Sunday, Dec. 30. Game time is 2:00 p.m. for Soccer Day in support of the Calgary Minor Soccer Association.
It's also another Sunday Funday presented by Ricky's All Day Grill which includes face painters, concourse activities, giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday features a specially priced $9.99 ticket for kids 12 and under and a $14.99 ticket for adults (plus applicable fees and taxes).
The Hitmen will then ring in 2019 with a New Year's Day game at the 'Dome on Tuesday, Jan. 1 against the Victoria Royals. Game time is 1:00 p.m. for Airdrie Day presented by Southland Transportation.
