Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators announced today that major leaguer Jamey Carroll will highlight the list of players attending this year's FANFEST 2004. Jamey will be joined by his brother Wes, along with pitchers Chuck Crumpton and Shawn Hill.

"We were really lucky to get the group," said Senators General Manager Todd Vander Woude. "We have a current major leaguer, our opening day starter from this past season and a couple of future stars. It's a great foursome."

The sixth annual Harrisburg Senators FANFEST will be held Saturday February 7, 2004 on City Island. FANFEST 2004 will be held in the Carousal Pavilion just outside Commerce Bank Park. The event will run from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.

The four players will be available for free autographs from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M.

Jamey Carroll headlines this year's event coming off his first full season in the major leagues with the Montreal Expos. Jamey appeared in 95 games with the Expos in 2003 and finished with a .261 average, 28 runs and 9 RBI.

Jamey played in parts of four different seasons with the Senators: 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002. He holds two all-time single season records for the Senators, Games at 141 and At-Bats at 561.

Brother Wes did play in Harrisburg this past season, but appeared in just 7 games with a .318 average on 7-22 hitting. Shawn Hill made quite a splash with the Senators pounding a grand slam home run in his first start at Altoona on August 10th. Hill finished his stay with the Senators at 3-1 with a 3.54 ERA.

Harrisburg vet Chuck Crumpton was on the hill to start the 2003 campaign. Harrisburg's opening day starter eventually moved to the bullpen where he finished with a 4-6 record in 26 appearances. Crumpton has appeared in 130 games in Harrisburg over the last four seasons.

FANFEST 2004 will also include several games and events for all members of the family and individual game tickets for the 2004 season at Commerce Bank Park will go on sale that day. Admission is FREE.
