
Offensive Shootout at Borleske Ends with a Sweets' Win

Walla Walla, Wa- The Sweets took the series against the Pippins with a 13-8 win on Wednesday afternoon. There were 27 combined hits in the game and there were only two innings in the game where a run was not scored by either team.
The Sweets jumped on top early and took a 3-1 lead after one. The first inning was highlighted by a Kyle Nixon two-run home run, his first of the season.
The Pippins came back to tie it in the fifth at four, but the Sweets put up two more in the bottom of the frame to take a 6-4 lead. A couple of innings later, the Pippins tied it again at six in the seventh. The Sweets then exploded for five runs, all with two outs to go up 11-6.
The final would go down 13-8 after a three hour, sixteen minute game.
The big performers for the Sweets were Connor Kopach and Nixon. Kopach went 3-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored. Nixon went 3-4 as well with a home run, double, three RBI and two runs scored.
The Sweets get back to .500 with a record of 15-15 and they head up to the Great White North for three games with Kelowna. The Falcons lead the East division.
