Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (10-6) and the Pittsfield Suns (8-8), as the two teams put up 21 runs combined in a 11-10 the Marthas Vineyard Sharks win.
The two teams combined for 24 hits in the game.
Ryan Kelly did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks, reaching base three times. He scored four runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning.
The Pittsfield Suns couldn't get anything going so long as Matt Binder was on the hill. Binder held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Edgar Montes racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Pittsfield Suns. He singled in the first inning and homered in the eighth inning.
William Montgomerie got his second win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks despite allowing six runs over six innings. Montgomerie struck out six, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Perry Kulaga couldn't get it done on the hill for the Pittsfield Suns, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
