Off to Kansas; Brahmas Prepare for RoadRunners

With the NAHL Showcase in the rearview mirror it's back to divisional play for the Brahmas. The boys are in Topeka for a two game set that gets underway this evening at 7:35.
The RoadRunners come into the weekend at an even 4-4. It's been a stretch of splits for the team from Topeka as they opened their season with a win and a loss against Wichita Falls, which was then followed by the exact same recipe against the Corpus Christi IceRays. The trend continued in Blaine with an even 2-2 stay. Furthermore, the team currently holds 19 goals scored, and you guessed it, 19 goals against.
It's a depth effort for Topeka, as every player on the active roster has recorded a point, except for one. Forward Cam Strong and defenseman Ryan O'Connor currently hold the lead with five points each. The RoadRunners received some additionally exciting news earlier this week when one of their goaltenders, Tyler Johnson, was named to the NHL's Central Scouting List. Johnson has started four games already this season, holding a 3-1 record with a goals against average of 2.00. All three of his wins have come in his last three starts, so he's hot.
On the Brahmas front, the team remains undefeated in regulation as they sit in second place of the south division at 4-0-1. The showcase proved that they're a force to be reckoned with, however the unpredictability of their surroundings makes these early divisional games that much more important. European imports Tomas Brejcha and Martin Mellberg are paving the way with a point-per-game for the Brahmas. The two have been playing on opposite wings of each other with Joey Fallon holding down the center.
Earlier this week the Brahmas made yet another goaltending move by shipping Darion Hanson off to Aston, which nearly secures Conor O'Brien and Corbin Kaczperski as the two for the foreseeable future. O'Brien has two wins and the new Kaczperksi is one-for-one with his 3-2 win over the reigning champion Minnesota Wilderness.
On the injury front, Troy York remains the only banged up body and has been placed on IR. Bud Madej was able to avoid the list and is good to go.
Puck drop is slated for 7:35 tonight and the Topeka RoadRunners will have a home broadcast available on FASTHOCKEY.com. The team will be home next weekend as they finally are able to rock the home whites. Tickets are available by calling 817-336-4ICE.
