Off the Hook with the Idaho Steelheads

January 26, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho ¾ The Idaho Steelheads skated out of Utah with a three-game sweep over the Grizzlies this weekend, giving them a perfect post- All-Star break record. The wins have pulled the Steelheads into a tie for second place in the West Division and National Conference with arch-rival Alaska, each with 51 points. Victoria remains in first place in the division/conference with 60 points.

The Steelheads, a little weary after winning the weekend's three games in three days and all in post-regulation play, will have a bit of a break to recoup this week. Idaho doesn't play again until Feb. 4 when they take on the Condors in Bakersfield.

IDAHO VS UTAH 2008-09 The Steelheads have faced off against the Grizzlies 11 times this 2008-09 season, and seven of those games have gone to either an overtime period or a shootout. Of the last five meetings, all five have gone to post-regulation play and the Steelheads have been victorious in all five.
