Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that OF Trevor Larnach will join the Kernels from Elizabethton; OF Jean Carlos Arias has been assigned to Elizabethton; and OF Christian Cavaness has been activated from the 7-day DL and released from the roster. Brian Maloney, Twins Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the move.

The Twins selected Larnach in the first round (20th overall) in the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Oregon State. In 17 games at Elizabethton, he was batting .300 (18-60) with 2 HR and 15 RBI.

Arias played in 79 games for the Kernels this season, batting .246 with 5 HR and 29 RBI and was tied for the MWL lead with nine triples. He was signed by the Twins as a non-drafted free agent on February 22, 2015.

Larnach will be active for Wednesday's 6:30 PM game at Clinton. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players currently on the DL.
