Odessa Stays #1 on Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

(Tempe, Arizona) - It has been pretty redundant this season when it comes to the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll and that redundancy is that the Odessa Jackalopes (24-4-3) are the CHL's #1 team. In all five polls this season, the Jacks have earned the respect of their peers earning that top spot and their latest admiration stems from their current eight-game win streak and their nine point lead in the Southern Conference. In the #2 spot once again is the Northern Conference leading Colorado Eagles (21-5-1) who are 12 points behind the Jacks in the poll.
The Jacks received 12 first place votes and the Eagles earned the other three first place votes (teams are unable to vote for themselves). The current poll looks very similar to the last poll released on December 16 as only four teams moved and they moved only one slot. The Rapid City Rush (20-8-1) and the Allen Americans (20-7-2) switched spots with the Rush moving up to #3 and the Americans falling back to #4 and the same can be said for the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (16-11-1) and the Laredo Bucks (13-10-6) who switched places with the Mudbugs moving up to #6 and the Bucks falling to #7.
The same 10 teams remain on the poll as no team dropped out. There are five teams from each conference represented with the South owning five of the top eight slots.
The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released on or near the beginning and middle of each month through the regular season. Each first place vote receives ten points, second place votes earn nine points, etc.
