The highest scoring line in the league was in town on Halloween night as the Saint John Sea Dogs (5-10-1-0) took on the Rimouski Oceanic (9-4-1-2) at TD Station. Former Sea Dog Cédric Paré had a hand in all of his team's goals, with three goals and three assists in the 6-1 Rimouski win on Thursday night.

The game began with a lot of pressure by the Dogs most of the play was in the Océanic zone to begin the game and the Océanic were held shotless for the first five minutes of play.

At 15:11 Matt Gould was sent to the box for hooking when he attempted to break up a scoring chance by Rimouski. The Océanic were scoreless on the power play but gained momentum.

Olivier Desroches received a cross-checking penalty at 10:58 and Rimouski's Jeffrey Durocher followed him at 9:53 for 56 seconds of 4-on-4 play.

Ludovic Soucy was called for slashing at 4:46.

The Rimouski power play was successful on their next opportunity after a slashing penalty sent James White off at 1:40. Rimouski scored on a passing play that involved their whole top line before finding its way to former Sea Dog Cédric Paré who sent the puck short side past Bouthillier's shoulder.

Shots at the end of the first were 16-6 for the Océanic.

An interference penalty to Jérémie Poirier with 46.8 seconds left in the first allowed the Océanic to begin the second with the man advantage.

The Sea Dogs power play got another chance at 15:40 because of a hooking penalty to Anthony D'Amours.

At 12:10 Rimouski thought they made it 2-0 when Jacob Kelly shoved the puck in from up close, but the goal was waved off.

A hooking penalty sent Jérémie Poirier off at 10:26. Isaac Belliveau, the leading scorer for rookies and defencemen, scored 15 seconds into the power play.

James White left the ice at 7:20 after receiving a check by Dmitry Zavgorodniy that sent him into the glass between the benches. White returned to the game at the start of the third. Matt Gould received a game misconduct and a roughing minor after attempting to fight Dmitry Zavgorodniy after the hit.

At 6:05 the Océanic scored their third goal on the power play, on a play that was almost identical to their first. Dmitry Zavgorodniy received a pass from Alexis Lafrenière and passed the puck to Cédric Paré who was waiting for the one timer and sent the puck past Bouthillier.

Defenceman Joona Lehmus scored his first goal in the QMJHL at 4:25, breaking Rimouski's shutout. He fired a shot from the blueline through traffic to the back of the Océanic's net.

Adam Raska received a penalty at 2:47 for checking from behind.

Shots at the end of the second were 34-14 for the Océanic.

Nicholas Deakin-Poot went off with a boarding penalty at 18:48 and Cédric Paré completed his hat trick with another power play goal from linemates Alexis Lafrenière and Dmitry Zavgorodniy.

Dmitry Zavgorodniy lifted the puck past Bouthillier at 11:39, getting his fourth point of the game.

Nathan Ouellet got called for delay of game at 9:25 when he tried to clear the Rimouski zone and sent the puck over the glass.

A roughing penalty to Ben Badalamenti at 1:50 sent the Océanic to the power play. Adam Raska scored Rimouski's sixth goal of the game at 1:01 on the power play.

Tensions rose in the final moments of the game, as a scrum broke out behind Rimouski's net with 30 seconds remaining. Brandon Casey, Jordan Spadafore, and Mikael Martel received unsportsmanlike misconducts and Brandon Casey received an additional boarding minor on the play.

Shots at the end of the game were 56-16 for the Océanic.
