Orlando City B News Release
MELBOURNE, Fla. - After earning its first victory of the season with a 2-1 win over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Friday, Orlando City B (1-3-1, 4 points) travels to Metro Bank Park on Monday to play the Harrisburg City Islanders (1-3-0, 3 points) aiming to continue building on its positive momentum. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
The contest between Orlando and Harrisburg will be streamed online at www.OrlandoCitySC.com/LIVE.
"The focus on the past two days has been on recovery, getting the guys' bodies recovered, refueled and ready to go tomorrow because it's a quick turnaround, obviously we only had two days between the games and it's a strange one because we only played Harrisburg just over a week ago," said OCB Head Coach Anthony Pulis. "We know them pretty well and they obviously know us pretty well. They've got a new home that they are playing in so they are obviously still getting used to that, and as I've said before, there are no easy games in this league, so we will approach it exactly the same way as what we did on Friday [against Pittsburgh] and hopefully the guys can put in a performance just as good, if not better, than the other night."
The Lions enter the game after earning their first victory of the season with an impressive performance at Pittsburgh Riverhounds' Highmark Stadium on Friday, April 22, featuring a brace from Orlando City SC season-long loaned defender, Tyler Turner.
The Homegrown Player opened the score in the 39th minute, cleverly surpassing three defenders and slotting the ball past the keeper. In the second half, the talented youngster completed his brace when he netted the game-winning goal assisted by former University of Central Florida striker Hadji Barry.
This will be OCB's second game in a busy two-week period, with home games against FC Montreal, FC Cincinnati and Bethlehem respectively scheduled for Sunday, May 1, Wednesday, May 4 and Saturday, May 7.
Both sides met on April 16 in a highly intense contest, in which the Lions were shown red on two separate occasions - one of them later overruled - forcing the team to play two men down. Despite relentless defensive efforts by an outmanned OCB squad, the Lions were unable to hold off the Islanders offensive threats, resulting in a 1-0 win for Harrisburg.
The Islanders host City after dramatically falling 3-2 against Louisville City FC in their home opener. Harrisburg's Brett Jankouskas equalized the match in the 88th minute to help the home side come back from a two-goal deficit, but Louisville's Kaye capitalized from a defensive breakdown in the 90th minute to steal the three points.
