OC Blues FC Match Preview: Blues Look to Get a Second Win at Home

IRVINE, Calif. (April 17, 2015) - In a rematch of the season opener, Orange County Blues FC take on Arizona United SC once again this Saturday. The match is set to kickoff at 7p.m. PT at UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium and the Blues are looking for retribution as they feel they should have taken all three points in the first meeting.

After beating Whitecaps FC 2 on Sunday, the Blues are 1-1-0 for the season. Coach Oliver Wyss is certain the contest will end well for the Blues. "I have complete confidence in my team as we have been working hard in preparing for Saturday's game. I felt we deserved more from the game and I'm looking forward to the rematch," commented Wyss.

With Blues midfielder Didier Crettenand named to the USL Team of the Week after his game winning goal against WFC2 and new addition Romeo Filipovic strengthening the backline, Orange County is ready for the rematch.

The Blues were unlucky in their first match against United, losing to them 2-1. Goals from forwards Dennis Chin and Robbie Derschang gave Arizona the lead. Goalkeeper Carl Woszczynski had a great game preventing the Blues' efforts to get an equalizer. Out of 17 shots, forward Chris Cortez scored the only goal of the night for the Blues when he chipped the ball over Woszczynski and into the net. Arizona is currently tied for first with a record of 3-0-0.
