Oakley CHL Player & Goaltender of the Week Announced

Youngstown forward Jeff Christian has today been named the Oakley Central Hockey League
Player of the Week, while Rio Grande Valley netminder Evan Lindsay has been selected as the
Oakley CHL Goaltender of the Week for Week 17 of the CHL season. Youngstown's Christian
continued his domination of the CHL's goal scoring race with five goals in four outings, while
Lindsay helped the Killer Bees earn three points in two outings and posted his second shutout
of the season.
Christian managed multiple points in all four of the SteelHounds road games this week, leading
the club to a record of 3-1-0. He scored a pair of power play goals in a 5-4 (SO) win at Tulsa on
February 7th, then had two assists in both a 7-4 win at Memphis February 10th and a 4-3 loss in
Oklahoma City February 11th. Saving his best outing of the week for last, he scored his third hat-trick
of the season (and 12th multiple goal game of the year) in a 4-3 win in Austin February 12th, potting
the game winning goal in the closing minutes. Christian leads the circuit with 42 goals and nine game
winners.
Lindsay began his week with a 42-save performance February 8th in a 3-2 overtime loss in Laredo,
then made another 34 saves Sunday afternoon to blank visiting Corpus Christi 5-0. Selected to
participate in the 2006 CHL All-Star Game, Lindsay ranks in the Top 10 among all goaltenders with
17 wins (5th) a 2.73 goals against average (7th) and a .915 save percentage (9th). Lindsay was also
named Oakley Goaltender of the Week in Week 12, allowing only three goals against in Southeast
Division wins over Austin (4-3) and Corpus Christi (1-0).
