Oakland Roots are coming off their first set of back to back wins of the season after beating Pacific Division leading Phoenix Rising on Wednesday night. Roots have picked up 11 points from their last five games and are currently on a five game unbeaten run.

Since passing the midway point of the season, the squad is starting to gel and many of the players who suffered injuries are finding their form. Jose Hernandez who missed earlier parts of the season has now scored in both of the teams last two wins, while captain Wal Fal has scored in three of his last six to bring his tally to tied for the team lead in goals.

The last time the Roots faced Tacoma, some unfortunate luck for Oakland led to a 3-1 loss on the road. Wal Fall scored a beautiful free kick as a consultation, but Roots look to flip the script this time as they welcome Tacoma to Oakland.

Former Roots keeper Christian Herrera makes his return to Oakland having made seven starts for the team from Washington.
