
LA Galaxy II Fight off Las Vegas' Late Charge

LOS ANGELES (Friday, Aug. 27, 2021) - After Las Vegas Lights FC leveled the match in the 89th minute, Rémi Cabral tallied the game-winning goal in LA Galaxy II's 3-2 road win at Cashman Field on Friday night.
LA Galaxy II Against Las Vegas Lights FC
Friday's match marked the third meeting between LA and Las Vegas in 2021, with Galaxy II improving to 2-1-0 this year. In the first meeting between the two teams in 2021, Los Dos earned a 5-0 shutout over Las Vegas at home on May 5. In the last meeting between Las Vegas and LA, Galaxy II fell 4-3 on June 16. The Lights and Los Dos will play once more this year, next squaring off on Oct. 8 in Las Vegas.
Goal-Scoring Plays
LV - Danny Musovski (Frank Daroma), 36th minute: Lights FC took the lead as Frank Daroma stepped up to intercept a pass in midfield and quickly lifted a pass forward for Danny Musovski into the left side of the penalty area for a low finish to the right corner.
LA - Preston Judd (Josh Drack), 39th minute: A lifted ball down the left flank by Taylor Davila allowed Josh Drack to track the ball down in space and the rookie cut back a cross to Judd in the center of the penalty area for a first-time finish to the right corner of the net and his fifth goal against Lights FC this season.
LA - Jorge Hernández (penalty kick), 70th minute: After second-half substitute Daniel Aguirre was fouled inside the penalty area, Hernández stepped up and fired a left-footed shot into the top-right corner of the net.
LV - Nathan Sepulveda (Chinenya Uche), 89th minute: Lights FC leveled in the 89th minute as a corner kick from the right fell to Chinenya Uche in the left side of the penalty area for a first-time effort that was redirected by Sepulveda at the top of the six-yard area and into the left side of the net.
LA - Remi Cabral, 89th minute: Los Dos responded a minute later from a set piece of its own as a corner from the left was kept alive by Kai Koreniuk on the goal line to the left of the net as he headed back into the six-yard area where first Harvey turned the ball on net before Cabral got the final touch to send it into the net.
Notes
Following the match, LA Galaxy II improved to 6-9-4 in 19 USL Championship regular-season matches played in 2021.
Fridays contest marked the third meeting between LA and Las Vegas in 2021, with Los Dos leading the season series 2-1-0.
Rémi Cabral notched the game-winning goal, his first career goal for LA Galaxy II, in the win over the Lights.
Preston Judd registered his team-leading ninth goal of the campaign, which leads the team.
Jorge Hernández tallied his eighth goal of the season, which ranks second on the club.
Hernández posted a game-high 11 chances created against Las Vegas.
Carlos Harvey led the Galaxy with a game-high nine tackles.
Josh Drack tallied his team-leading sixth assist of the 2021 campaign in the win over Las Vegas.
Isaac Bawa finished the match with a game-high five interceptions and four clearances.
