
Oakland Roots SC Announces the Signing of Defender Justin Rasmussen

Oakland, CA - Oakland Roots SC announces the signing of defender, Justin Rasmussen ahead of the 2024 USL Championship Season. Rasmussen comes to Oakland with two seasons of MLS experience under his belt having represented Portland Timbers in both 2022 and 2023.
"Justin will be a key piece to our squad as we fill out our backline headed into the home opener," said Oakland Roots SC Head Coach, Noah Delgado. "His experience in MLS and with Timbers over the last two seasons makes him a player that has the experience but is still hungry."
Rasmussen is a 25-year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada who played his college soccer at Grand Canyon University. Following a standout college career Rasmussen was selected 27th overall in the 2022 MLS Superdraft by Portland before eventually spending time between Timbers II and the first team during his two seasons in the pacific northwest.
