Oakland Roots News Release
Oakland, CA - Oakland Roots and Soul Sports Club renews partnership with founding partner, Ava Community Energy (Ava), formerly known as East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), ahead of the 2024 season. Ava, the club's official clean energy partner, is a public agency based in Oakland providing clean energy throughout Alameda County and in parts of the San Joaquin Valley.
"Ava Community Energy has been with us from the very beginning and we're excited to have them back on board for another season," said Oakland Roots and Soul SC VP of Brand Partnerships, Andrea Lepore. "Ava supports our mission to improve the health of Oakland through residential and commercial programs to save energy and money, while transitioning our community to 100% carbon-free electricity."
Additionally, Ava Community Energy becomes Oakland Roots and Oakland Soul's official back of jersey partner for the first time in the club's five-year history. Ava's logo will be emblazoned on all primary and secondary official jerseys.
"It was serendipitous that Ava Community Energy launched our electricity service in 2018, the same year that Oakland Roots launched," said Ava CEO Nick Chaset. "We've been partners ever since, sharing a common mission to clean the environment, celebrate the community, and improve the well-being of the people in the place where we live, work, and play."
