New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (2-17-3, 9 points) will host Atlanta United 2 (4-16-4, 16 points) on Tuesday, August 9, at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
Tuesday will mark a rematch of the clubs' first meeting this season, a match that New York took 1-0 behind a goal from Jordan Adebayo-Smith on March 16. Overall, it will be the seventh meeting between the sides, with New York holding a 4-2-0 advantage in the all-time series. Three of the six meetings have featured a team scoring five or more goals, including New York's club record eight in July of 2019.
Red Bulls II will look to bounce back after falling 2-1 to Memphis 901 FC on Wednesday, August 3, at MSU Soccer Park. Jordan Adebayo-Smith scored his fourth goal of the season, and Giannis Nikopolidis tallied a career-high nine saves. The club is entering the second week of its season-long four match homestand.
In its last match, Atlanta fell to Birmingham Legion FC, 6-0, on Saturday, August 6, at Protective Stadium. The club is led by the goal-scoring duo of Tristan Trager and Jackson Conway, who each have six on the season. Goalkeeper Justin Garces is tied for third in USL Championship with 65 saves.
New York sits 14th in the Eastern Conference while Atlanta ranks 12th.
Following the match, New York will conclude its four-match homestand on Friday, August 12, against the Charleston Battery. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
