New York Red Bulls II News Release
HARRISON, N.J. - New York Red Bulls II (1-10-1, 4 points) will host San Diego Loyal SC (6-3-3, 21 points) on Thursday, June 2, at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN+.
The match will mark the first-ever meeting between the two clubs and the fifth in New York history against a West Coast team. Red Bulls II will play at Red Bull Arena for the first time since September 5, 2020. The club is 23-11-9 all-time in Harrison.
Red Bulls II will look to bounce back after a close battle with Birmingham Legion FC, falling 2-1 on May 27. Forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith has scored in two of New York's last three matches to vault himself into the team lead in that category.
San Diego opened the season by winning five of their first six matches, and have since earned results against Oakland, Tampa Bay, and New Mexico. The club is led by Kyle Vassell, who is tied for the league lead with eight goals.
New York ranks 14th in the Eastern Conference while San Diego sits 3rd in the Western Conference.
Following the match, New York will travel to face Loudoun United FC on Wednesday, June 8. Kickoff from Segra Field is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage available on ESPN+.
