
Nuts Slam Rawhide in 8-5 Win

Modesto, CA. - After a quiet two nights offensively, the Modesto Nuts' offense busted out in an 8-5 win against the Visalia Rawhide on Saturday night at John Thurman Field.
Dillon Thomas tied the game for the Nuts (57-48; 24-11) with a two-run double in the third. Thomas scored on Drew Weeks' sac fly to give the Nuts a lead they would not surrender. In the sixth, the Nuts busted the game open when Correlle Prime crushed a grand slam as part of a five-run frame.
The granny knocked Rawhide (64-41; 22-13) starter Blake Perry (L, 7-4) out of the game. The righty worked 5.1 innings allowing seven runs while striking out six and walking three.
Konner Wade (W, 7-6) tossed 7.1 innings and allowed a season-high eleven hits and five runs. The righty surrendered a pair in the first but was dominant until allowing a two-run homer to Mitch Haniger in the seventh. In the eighth, a Gerson Montilla RBI single knocked Wade out of the game.
