San Jose, CA. - Jason Forjet mowed down the Modesto Nuts in a 2-0 loss to the San Jose Giants on Tuesday night at Municipal Stadium
Forjet (W, 7-4) eight shutout inning for the Giants (70-64; 40-24). He struck out a season-high ten with no walks and just three hits, all singles, allowed. Forjet at one point, retired 16 in a row after a first-inning single. Jake Smith (S, 16) tossed a perfect ninth against the Nuts (66-68; 33-31).
Alex Balog (L, 3-7) was good in his start for the Nuts. The right worked seven innings and allowed just two runs on six hits. Both runs came in on double plays.
