The Nuts and the JetHawks opened the Cal League Championship series last night with Lancaster taking game 1, 7-4. After taking a quick 1-0 lead in the second inning, Nuts starter Kennil Gomez gave up four runs in the third. Although Modesto was able to cut the lead to one in the bottom half, the JetHawks were able to close the door and keep Modesto out of the win column.
