Novak Shines As Bighorns Top Stampede, 110-96

BOISE, Idaho- Newcomer Steve Novak poured in a game-high 21 points in his Bighorns debut, leading Reno to a 110-96 victory over the Idaho Stampede Friday night inside Qwest Arena.

Novak, a five-year NBA veteran who signed with Reno (19-12) earlier today via the available player pool, shot 8-10 from the field and 5-7 from beyond the arc. He led six Bighorns in double figures on the evening, extending Reno's winning streak to four games.

After taking a six-point lead into halftime, Reno extended its lead to 11 by outscoring Idaho (10-18) 29-24 in the third period. Novak scored 16 of his game-high 21 points in the third, leading the ‘Horns to their first road win since Jan. 7 at Utah.

NBA assignee Jeremy Lin narrowly missed a double-double, scoring 17 points and adding nine assists. Marcus Landry chipped in with 19 points and six boards for the Bighorns, who defeated Idaho for the third time in four tries this season.

Idaho was led by Antoine Walker's 18 points, while Jermareo Davidson recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The two teams conclude their season series Saturday night at 6 p.m. PT in Boise, with the game broadcast live on NBA Futurecast at nba.com/dleague. Reno returns home on Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. against the Ft. Wayne Mad Ants.
