[HUNTSVILLE, AL] - The Aces power play was working but two quick even strength goals against in the third period resulted in a critical two points going to Huntsville as they defeated the Aces 5-3 Saturday night.
Eldon Cheechoo, Robert Cardinal and Brett Roat all had power play markers for the Aces, but the Havoc's James Patterson (2), Jason Simon, Brandon Doria and Doug Merrell answered back.
Aces goalie Mark Scally stopped 45 of 50 shots on the night, while Huntsville's Matt Carmichael stopped 14 of 17 Aces opportunities for the win.
Despite the skewed shot count, the game was far closer than it would seem and was tied 3-3 heading into the third period. Doria and Merrell sealed the deal with goals that came fourteen second apart. The Aces battled hard to the final buzzer but could not penetrate the Havoc zone.
