Northwest Division Race Heats Up

February 21, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Broomfield, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage begin the final quarter of the season facing an important stretch of three games in three days that kicks-off tomorrow when the club welcomes the Oklahoma City Blazers to Broomfield Event Center at 7:05 p.m.

First place in the Northwest Division will then be on the line when Rocky Mountain clashes with the archrival Colorado Eagles in a two-game, home-and-home set that begins on Saturday at the Budweiser Events Center before concluding at Broomfield Event Center on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.

The Rage (30-13-5, 65 pts.) have resided in first place in the Northwest since the opening night of the campaign, but the second-place Eagles (29-14-5, 63 pts.) have closed the gap to just two points in the standings with both teams having played 48 of their respective schedules' 64 games. Rocky Mountain leads the season series with a record of 5-2-1.

In addition to the Northwest Division ramifications that will play out on the ice, Sunday's tilt will also feature Rage defenseman Clay Plume Bobblehead Dolls for the first 1,000 fans at Broomfield Event Center courtesy of FirsTier Bank.

Following the game, season ticket holders will be invited onto the ice to skate with the entire Rocky Mountain team. Season ticket holders are encouraged to bring their own ice skates for Sunday's post-game skate, but there will be a limited number of skates available at the arena for fans to use, as well.

The Rage placed CHL All-Star forward Scott Wray on 30-day injured reserve today after the league's fourth-leading goal scorer was injured last Saturday against the Arizona Sundogs.

To help try to replace their third-leading scorer (28g-33a-61pts), Rocky Mountain added right winger Jeremy Garrison to the roster. Garrison is a sixth-year pro who spent his first four seasons playing in Germany and Italy before returning to North America last year to help the New Mexico Scorpions reach the Southern Conference Finals.

Single-game tickets for the remainder of the 2007-08 regular season are available with prices ranging from $18 - $43 per seat (parking included). Fans can purchase tickets at Broomfield Event Center's box office or through Ticketmaster by logging-on to www.Ticketmaster.com, calling (303) 830-TIXS, or visiting any Ticketmaster retail outlet.

For group ticket information, please call the Rage at (303) 439-RAGE or visit www.rockymountainrage.com.
