Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release

Watson, 6'0", 200 lbs., last played football in 2021 at Tiffin University, located in Tiffin, Ohio. Watson comes into the Indoor Football League to play his first season at the professional level. Watson had an incredible collegiate career for the Dragons, completing 60.4% of his passes for 12,186 yards and 99 touchdowns. Watson poses a dual threat to opposing defensive units, as he ran for 1,363 yards and 27 touchdowns during his time at Tiffin.

Watson earned a spot on the First Team All-Conference squad during two of his four seasons. Watson is also a two-time GMAC (Great Midwest Athletic Conference) Offensive Player of the Year. During the season that was affected by COVID-19, Watson was named the GMAC Player of the Year over a six-game span. Watson was an Honorable Mention for the All-American Team during his senior season, and led the Dragons to back-to-back conference titles.

Watson earned the Dragon for Life Award from Tiffin University. This award acknowledges a student athlete for excellence, both on and off the field, and Watson will be held as a proud member of Tiffin Alumni. Watson graduated from Tiffin with his bachelor's degree in Communications & Sports Journalism.

Watson was originally born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been playing the quarterback position since he was just five-years-old. Watson was inspired to be a quarterback, and a multi-sport athlete, as a kid, when he watched players like Doug Williams and Charlie Ward. Watson's father was a basketball guy at heart, placing his son in both football and baseball, so that he could be a tougher player on the court. Watson ended up gravitating towards football, more than any other sport, and made that his focus through college.

Watson is inspired by his family to continue playing, now having an eight-month-old daughter of his own to look after. Watson truly has love for the game of football, as he wants to be the best player possible, and the greatest quarterback to ever do it.

Watson is excited to join the Wranglers and stated that he will, "give my all during every play, practice and game." Watson also explained that he is ready to help bring another National Championship to Northern Arizona.
