Northern Arizona Wranglers At San Diego Strike Force Game Preview

June 8, 2023 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Northern Arizona Wranglers News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Northern Arizona Wranglers will hit the road to take on the San Diego Strike Force on Sunday afternoon.

The Wranglers currently hold a 5-5 record on the 2023 season, and head into San Diego on a three-game losing skid. Despite the loss last week, the Wranglers offense looked much improved in their double overtime battle against the Arizona Rattlers. The Wranglers fought hard but dropped a 63-62 heartbreaker at home. The Strike Force enter this showdown with a 4-6 record on the season, just one game behind the Wranglers in the Western Conference Playoff race. Last week, the Strike Force were on the winning end of a one-point contest, defeating the Tulsa Oilers by a score of 56-55.

This is the second meeting this season between the Wranglers and Strike Force. In their first contest, the Wranglers won in comfortable fashion, defeating the Strike Force by a score of 48-9. Northern Arizona holds a 3-0 record when playing San Diego over the past two seasons. The Strike Force will be led by a different quarterback than the first time these two teams faced off. San Diego quarterback Nate Davis beat the Wranglers in their first game of 2023 when he was suited up for the Duke City Gladiators. The Strike Force have maintained a 2-3 record under Davis. The Wranglers will be looking to shut down the Strike Force offense and they're ready for the challenge.

The Wranglers currently hold the Western Conference's fourth and final seed for the 2023 Indoor Football League Playoffs. The Wranglers have their backs against the wall, and need a win in San Diego to keep their current Playoff positioning. The Wranglers will need to tap into some of the offensive success that they had in their battle against the Rattlers. The Wranglers No. 1 ranked scoring defense has been taking a few steps back, allowing 63 total points in their loss last week.
