A night after scoring 22 runs on 18 hits, Bangor was blanked 6-0 as New Jersey's Joel Bennett and Craig Breslow combined on an eight-hit shutout. There was silver lining in the loss as New Jersey's win clinched the second half title for the Jackals and gave the Lumberjacks a spot in the playoffs. New Jersey scored single runs in the third and fifth on home runs by Jay LaFlair and Darren Ciraco, respectively. With the score 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth, Wady Almonte hit a two-run double and Ciraco had a sacrifice fly for the final score. Josh Tranum went 2-for-3 for Bangor.

Keith Dunn pitched eight effective innings and Lee Delfino drove in two as Quebec regained the top spot in the North Division with a 5-2 victory over North Shore. Les Capitales also clinched a spot in the playoffs when New Jersey defeated Bangor, 6-0. The game was scoreless until the fourth when Delfino singled home two and then scored on Olivier Lepine's groundball to the pitcher for a 3-0 lead. Those would be all the runs Dunn needed as he allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four to improve to 10-2 on the season. Alex Santos pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his league-leading 21st of the season. Marcos Agramonte hit a two-run home for the Spirit.

ELMIRA 8, NEW HAVEN COUNTY 6

Dytarious Edwards went 4-for-5 with two RBI as Elmira upended New Haven County, 8-6, to split their four-game series. The Cutters led 1-0 in the second before the Pioneers erupted for five runs on two-out RBI hits by Ronnie Deck, Jason Bryan, Jobu Morita and Edwards for a 5-1 lead. New Haven County tied the game in the sixth on a home run by Aaron Fera and a Jeff Brooks' double. Elmira sent the home fans happy for the last time when Bryan, Deck and Edwards each added his second RBI of the game in a three-run eighth. Saul Solveson pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win, while Matt Burch picked up his fourth save of the season.

Mike Henry went seven innings and allowed five hits as Brockton ended the Aces' four-game winning streak with a 4-1 victory. The Rox got on the board in the second when Michael Sandoval's double down the left field line brought home two. Three innings later, the Rox made the scored 3-0 on Mike Torres' sacrifice fly. The Aces ended the shutout in the ninth when Chad Gambill hit his sixth homer of the season for a 4-1 disadvantage. Chad Stewart, Saul Bustos and Brian Jones each had two hits for Brockton, while Yohanny Valera went 2-for-3 for the Aces.
