KODAK, Tenn. - In a marathon of a contest on Wednesday night, the Lookouts evened up the week-long series with the Smokies by a 9-5 final in 11 innings.

The Smokies scored the first run of the ball game in the second inning when Andy Weber hit a two-out single to score BJ Murray from second, making it 1-0. But the Lookouts did not waste any time in getting that run back, as Nick Northcut led off the third inning with a long solo shot to left-center, tying the game at one a piece.

Chattanooga then took the lead in the fourth thanks to back-to-back home runs with two outs. The first was a two-run blast off the bat of Ivan Johnson, and the second was the second homer of the game for Northcut. It was then 4-1, Lookouts through three and a half. Pablo Aliendo led off the bottom half of the frame with a solo home run to cut the deficit to 4-2.

Tennessee tied the game again in the bottom of the sixth, when Pete Crow-Armstrong lined a two-run homer over the right field fence, making it a 4-4 game. The Smokies then got the lead back in the seventh, when a 4-6-3 double play brought home Owen Caissie from third, giving them a 5-4 lead.

The Lookouts would not go quietly into the East Tennessee night, however, as Johnson hit his second home run of the game in the top of the ninth to tie game at 5-5. This would ultimately send the game into extra innings.

After a scoreless tenth frame, the Lookouts got four runs in the eleventh, three of which came on another home run by Northcut, his third of the game. It was 9-5 after the Chattanooga half of the frame. The Smokies then went down 1-2-3 in their portion of the eleventh, ending the game.

The series continues tomorrow night (6/1) at 7:00 PM EDT for Thirsty Thursday presented by Coors Light. 20 oz beers will only be $3.
