San Jose finished the regular season with a 76-64 record - tops in the North Division. The Giants won their league-record sixth consecutive first half North Division title while the 2010 season marks their seventh straight year in the playoffs. San Jose has won three league championships (2005, 2007, 2009) in the last five seasons and five titles over the last 12 years. The Giants are attempting to win back-to-back California League championships for the first time in franchise history.

Regular Season Review... The Giants posted a 45-25 first half record to win the North Division by eight games over the Modesto Nuts and Visalia Rawhide. San Jose's best month of the season was May (19-12 record), which included a 10-game winning streak that vaulted the club into first place in the division. Their worst month came in July (13-16 record) while the Giants finished the second half with a 31-39 mark - 12 games behind the first-place Stockton Ports. San Jose posted the best overall record in the North Division for the third straight season and fifth time in the last six years.
Cal League Rankings... San Jose finished the regular season second in the California League in batting average (.289), fourth in runs scored (5.3), tied for sixth in home runs (117) and first in stolen bases (208). The Giants were also third in ERA (4.27) and second in fielding percentage (.976). San Jose and Rancho Cucamonga were the only two teams in the league to finish in the top five in batting average, ERA and fielding percentage.
Road Team Dominates Giants-Nuts Season Series... The Giants were 10-13 versus Modesto during the regular season - the only club in the North Division that San Jose had a losing record against. The Giants were only 4-11 versus the Nuts at Municipal Stadium. Dating back to May 1, Modesto won 11 out of their last 13 games in San Jose. The Giants posted a 6-2 mark at John Thurman Field - all in the first half.
Peguero Finishes Regular Season On 20-Game Hitting Streak... Outfielder Francisco Peguero finished the regular season on a 20-game hitting streak - the fourth-longest in San Jose Giants history. Peguero posted a .409 batting average (36-for-88) during the hit streak, which dated back to August 18. Tim Garland hit safely in 23 consecutive games during the 1996 season to set the San Jose Giants record. Over his last six games, Peguero was a sizzling 15-for-25 (.600) with three doubles, one triple, one home run and seven RBI's. He finished first in the California League in triples (16), third in stolen bases (40), tied for third in hits (168) and fourth in batting average (.329). Peguero led the Giants with 77 RBI's.
Monell's Second Half Surge... Catcher Johnny Monell hit .330 with 14 home runs during the second half after batting just .220 with five homers before the All-Star break. Monell led the Giants in home runs (19) this season.

Charlie Culberson (.290, 16 HR, 71 RBI) and Brandon Belt (.383, 10 HR, 62 RBI) shared the team MVP honor while Surkamp and Justin Fitzgerald (10-6, 3.45 ERA) were named co-winners of the team Pitcher of the Year award. San Jose-Modesto Playoff History... The Giants and Nuts are meeting in the postseason for the first time since the 2005 North Division Series. San Jose swept that series en route to winning the California League title. The Giants and Modesto A's met four times in the playoffs (all in the North Division Series). San Jose defeated the A's in 1995 and 1999 while Modesto won the 1994 and 2004 series'.
Giants Add Three Relievers To Postseason Roster... San Jose has added three relief pitchers to their playoff roster from Augusta (Low-A): Jose Casilla (4-1, 1.16 ERA, 14 SV), Hector Correa (5-3, 4.12 ERA) and Wilmin Rodriguez (4-3, 3.81 ERA).
Modesto Nuts... The Modesto Nuts, an affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, finished the regular season with an overall record of 73-67 - one game ahead of the Visalia Rawhide (72-68) for the North Division wild card crown. Modesto swept the second half champion Stockton Ports in the best-of-three North Mini-Series earlier this week. The Nuts earned a 3-1 victory over Stockton on Wednesday in Game One before a 6-2 win in Game Two on Thursday. Modesto was sixth in the California League in batting average (.270), seventh in runs scored (5.1), sixth in ERA (4.50) and tied for sixth in fielding percentage (.971).
