North Carolina FC News Release

MADISON, WI. - North Carolina FC visits Forward Madison FC for the second time during the 2023 USL League One season this Saturday, June 10, at 8:00 PM ET at Breese Stevens Stadium. Coming off a solid road shutout in Knoxville last weekend, North Carolina is still sitting atop the USL League One table with 22 points on the season.

North Carolina FC had complete dominance in the first half of the game. Oalex Anderson continued his outstanding play on the season with a save late in extra time and put out a cross to Jaden Servania for his first goal of the 2023 season and gave Anderson his 4th assist on the year.

During the second half, it was more evenly matched, but the North Carolina defense locked down Knoxville and managed to keep a clean sheet for the match. After a bounce back win North Carolina head into a match with Madison this weekend.

Scouting Forward Madison SC

Forward Madison currently sits 7th in the USL League One standing, trailing South Georgia Tormenta FC, by one point. They are coming off a 2-1 loss against Central Valley Fuego. Although they might be a behind in the standings, do not count them out one bit. They defeated North Carolina at home 2-0 earlier in the season on May 13 in Cary. They look to get their season back on track at this halfway point in the season when facing off against a top tier opponent they had huge success with earlier in the season.

Players to Watch

Nick Holiday- Goalkeeper, North Carolina FC

Holiday is fresh off a shutout against Knoxville One SC this past weekend. Unlike the tough game on against Forward Madison earlier this season, he looks to help avenge the 0-2 suffered at home in May. Alongside his teammates he continues an impressive display of defense to they can keep their spot as they sit atop of the USL League One standings.

Jake Crull- Defender, Forward Madison FC

Crull has been an important asset to the Forward Madison's defense all season. With his exceptional defensive skills, he has been able to help lock down the fort in the defensive third of the field. Crull's skills show on the defensive side of the ball, and they were essential to Forward Madison's shoutout against North Carolina earlier this season. If Forward Madison has any success as they did previously on the defensive side, look no further than Crull to lead the charge.
