STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC is set to welcome Lexington Sporting Club to Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium for the first-time in club history this Saturday June 10, at 7:30 p.m. ET on Health and Wellness night presented by Optim Sports Medicine. Lexington SC obtained its first win against Tormenta FC on April 15, when the Kentucky side got a 2-1 result at home. Owen Green, 2022 USL League One champion with Tormenta FC, is set to return to Tormenta Stadium.
Last Saturday, Tormenta FC earned a 1-1 draw in the latest edition of the Peach States Derby against Greenville Triumph SC. Kazaiah Sterling found his first goal of the season after converting a late penalty kick.
Lexington is currently bottom of the table with nine points, with its last win coming against the Charlotte Independence on May 13. Last Saturday, Lexington hosted Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC, and the Kentucky side was able to rally for a 2-2 comeback tie.
Defender Nick Akoto, midfielder Kingsford Adjei and Matheus Cassini are still recovering from previous injuries, making them unavailable for selection this weekend.
Following Saturday's match, Tormenta FC receives the visit of the Hailstorm, who will visit Tormenta Stadium for the second time this season on Saturday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium.
