North Carolina FC News Release
CARY, N.C. - North Carolina FC and partner club Rayados de Monterrey are combining with NCFC Youth to host a free scouting event for male soccer players born between 2008 and 2011 on Field 5 at WakeMed Soccer Park on Friday, March 22. Register here through Playmetrics. New users will need to create a Playmetrics account in order to register.
Players will be evaluated by the Rayados Academy scouting staff and the NCFC Academy and first team staffs. Two 45-minute sessions divided by age will take place ahead of that evening's international friendly between Rayados and Atlético de San Luis at WakeMed Soccer Park.
"We're very excited to bring a tangible facet of our partnership with Rayados to our community. Providing local youth players the chance to be seen simultaneously by both a leading club in CONCACAF and our highly acclaimed academy is special, and we're proud to have this relationship that creates such a unique opportunity. We also want to extend our gratitude to the NCFC Youth and NCFC Academy staffs who have helped make this possible. We look forward to an incredible night of soccer next month," said President of the North Carolina Football Club, Francie Gottsegen.
There is no fee to register or attend the scouting sessions. Interested players will need to register through their PlayMetrics account, or create one, and players will be selected for participation based on the evaluation of their registration questionnaire and not on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are 72 spaces available in each session with players born in 2010 and 2011 beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET and those born in 2008 and 2009 to follow at 5:15 p.m. ET. Check-in will begin 30 minutes prior to each session. The scouting sessions are open to all players of appropriate age, but players with Mexican lineage are encouraged to attend.
Each participant will receive a complimentary ticket to both that evening's Liga MX friendly, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET, and the North Carolina FC USL Championship match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. ET. Additional tickets for participants' family and friends will be available for purchase at a discounted rate.
