
North Carolina Courage Preseason Preview

North Carolina Courage News Release
Cary, NC - The North Carolina Courage will begin preparation for its second NWSL season on Monday, Feb. 19 when the team officially begins preseason training in Cary, NC. After a highly successful inaugural 2017 season, the Courage will strive to uphold the strong precedent set by the NWSL Shield-winning squad.
Preseason matches will be interspersed throughout the team's preseason training regimen, kicking off with a match against UNC-Chapel Hill on Sunday, Feb. 25, and concluding with a history-making match at Richmond's City Stadium against the Washington Spirit on Saturday, March 17.

Thursday, March 1: NC Courage at NC State, 11:30 a.m. at Dail Soccer Stadium
Sunday, March 4: NC Courage vs. Tennessee, time TBA at WakeMed Soccer Park
Sunday, March 11: NC Courage vs. Wake Forest, 3:30 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park

US Women's National Team members Williams, Dunn and Dahlkemper will not report to the NC Courage's first weeks of preseason after being named to the SheBelieves Cup preliminary roster. Mewis was not named to the USWNT roster for the tournament due to a short-term knee injury. Mewis is recovering well, and she plans to continue her rehabilitation in Boston. Additionally, Chapman (Canada), Erceg (New Zealand), O'Sullivan (Ireland) and Debinha (Brazil) will be on international duty for their respective countries in late February- early March. Due to injury, Kawamura and King will report later to preseason.
The NC Courage will open their highly-anticipated sophomore season at home in an NWSL Championship rematch against the Portland Thorns in the NWSL Game of the Week on Lifetime. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at Sahlen's Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. Tickets for the NC Courage home opener go on sale Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. ET.
